Animal Advocates of Moore County rescued dogs and cats from Sanford, Lee County when a tornado came through the area destroying 6,600 homes. The organization has taken in these lost animals, identified them by their collars and rabies tag if they had one, and then rushed them to our local vet hospital. Many suffered from dehydration, needed sutures and some had broken legs and small wounds. We have located most of the owners and have agreed to care for their dogs and cats until they are back in their new homes. Our veterinary bills have been astronomical for a small charity. However as Animal Advocates we felt it was our obligation to help the dogs and cats of Lee County. Most of the big US organizations like the Humane Society and ASPCA went to metropolitan cities such as Raleigh to help locate lost pets.
A $2000.00 grant to us would be a miracle and would help assist us with the present tornado victims in our care. I will be uploading pictures for your records.
Thank you and Bless you. We wait with hope.
