We’ve received so many wonderful submissions for the Purina Veterinary Diets® Adopt-a-Pet.com $50,000 Veterinary Care Fund! We were so moved by the amazing lengths rescues and shelters go to give homeless pets a chance at getting healthy so they can be adopted – and thought you would be too! So we’re sharing some of the submissions, and all of the recipients’ stories here on our Shelter Blog. Here’s how a $2,000 grant would (or, in the case of our recipients, WILL) change the life of a pet or pets in their care:
Precious Paws Asian and Small Breed Dog Rescue
Our group has consistently taken in the “most needy” rescues. Ones with major medical needs. We also rescue many puppy mill dogs and have successfully closed down several puppy mills all by ourselves and gotten each and every dog out, back to good health and into fantastic homes. We have NEVER put any dog to sleep for any reason, including major medical needs. We have gone into extreme debt to do this. As I write this we are in the process of closing down another puppy mill in MS and the dogs there need major medical care and we do NOT have the funds but we also know due to the deplorable conditions that we must get them out. This would help us get some of them vet care. We have the story about the need for these dogs on our web site, link below. We will have all their pictures, possibly a video from inside the “puppy mill” showing all the dogs that need help as well. We also always take crippled dogs without out use of their legs…two of them can be seen in their wheel chairs on our web site as well. Here is one dog at the vet now that has had to be boarded as well.
Please see below our urgent need for the Veterinary grant….Also pictures and a video of little Maria who has a broken leg…. We have rescued several more puppy mill dogs in MS and have very bad news about several of the mill dogs just rescued Saturday. The Maltese are deaf and blind…the male has a very bad heart with major fluid accumulation around his heart and testicles. He will never survive surgery and is suffering and has been for quite awhile. Another Maltese is blind and deaf too, she has mammary cancer in advanced stages, a bad heart and is suffering. The vet thinks the blind Yorkie has advanced cancer as well and will open her up to see the extent of it and what, if anything can be done. Also a shelter called us, they have several breeder Shih Tzus they got in they need us to take, ranging in age from 3 to 13. We are beyond desperate for help. We also have just rescued a Chihuahua with a broken leg, see video. Pictures of some of the rescued dogs we have recently rescued from shelters and puppy mills are below.
More info about all the dogs we save with major medical needs and HUNDREDS of before/after photos that tell the real story of what we do can be found on our web site.(links below) PLEASE HELP!
