Last chance: Help guide important research!

With the hustle and bustle of the holidays, isn’t it great to make a huge difference in only 2-3 minutes? If you currently have a foster program at your rescue organization or shelter, you can! The research team at Maddie’s Fund® and University of North Carolina at Charlotte need your help to develop additional outreach initiatives. All you have to do is take a 2-3 minute survey that asks you to share some basic information about your organization: http://tinyurl.com/MFUNCC2015

As a token of their appreciation, complete the survey before December 11th, and you’ll be entered to win a $25 gift card from Maddie’s Fund®. 20 winners will be chosen by Maddie’s Fund®, so please share with your industry colleagues! The survey closes on December 11th, 2015.

New partner site: Found Animals

We’re always looking for ways to get your pets seen by more potential adopters, and here’s a new one! Found Animals is a nonprofit whose primary mission is the happiness and safety of animals. From microchips and registration, to responsible adoption initiatives and low-cost spay and neuter, they are committed to delivering practical solutions that will ensure the health and safety of dogs and cats everywhere. Through a collaboration with Adopt-a-Pet.com, Found Animals is happy to feature your pets on their website, so they can be seen by adopters searching for pets near you!

As always, you control which partner websites display your pets on from your “My Shelter/Rescue Info” page at https://www.adoptapet.com/cgi-bin/shelter/shelter.cgi/shelter_edit_form. Just uncheck the box next to the partner name, and click the update button at the bottom of the page. If you have multiple locations/accounts, you’ll need to make changes to each account.

Bayer kicks off Share for Shelters program with a goal to provide $20,000 in products to shelters and rescues!

The pet lovers at Bayer – makers of your favorite flea, tick, and heartworm disease prevention – know that the holiday season is all about the spirit of giving and sharing. That’s why we’re thrilled to team up with them around their holiday Share for Shelters program that gives the gift of parasite protection to cats and dogs in shelters. From now through December 31st, 2015 Bayer will provide essential pet care products to Adopt-a-Pet.com to distribute to shelters and rescues for every pet photo shared on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram using the hash tag #ShareForShelters or uploaded to the ShareForShelters.com website – up to $20,000 worth of products!
