BARC-grant

The newest 2015 grant recipient!

Congratulations to the most recent Adopt-a-Pet.com Veterinary Care Fund grant recipient, Bully Advocate & Rescue Collective (BARC) from Isle of Wight, Virginia. Their application told how this grant will allow them to “…continue helping the dogs that need me most; specifically, the orthopedically challenged pit bulls…. most shelters just don’t have the resources, the space to hold on to these dogs, or the time to allow them to be healthy enough to be adopted.” If you’re wondering about Juliet in the photos above, “Another stray came into the shelter with a “bum” leg. We named her Juliet and whisked her into foster. When she was examined and her X-rays were taken, we not only discovered an old cruciate injury, we saw this: BIRDSHOT. She had not had a happy past. Of course, like most dogs, she was completely ready to let go of her past and leap into the future with us.”

See the rest of BARC’s application and amazing photos here.

Adopt-a-Pet.com is proud to be able to support organizations like BARC and all of you that do such amazing work on the front lines of animal rescue!

Bayer-thankyou

A thank you letter to you from our friends at Bayer

“With National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week upon us, the Bayer pet division family would like to extend our most sincere thanks to all of the animal shelter and rescue staff and volunteers who work day in and day out to save the lives of homeless animals. Your efforts and dedication to those pets who need help the most is not only commendable and appreciated, but truly contributes to making the world a better place for animals. We thank you for working tirelessly – often in addition to full time roles you fill also in jobs and with family – to save the lives of these wonderful animals, some of whom we’ve been lucky enough to welcome into our own individual families. And it’s all thanks to you!

Because Bayer truly understands the difficult and often costly nature of sheltering and animal rescue, we offer special programs to aid in your efforts. For more information, please contact jeffrey.schrader@bayer.com.
