*New* Enter microchip number when you add or edit pets

You asked for it, we added it! You asked us for a way to enter a pet’s microchip number before the pet was adopted. Now you’ll see a gray box on every Add Pet and Edit Pet pages, under the Story/Description box. That’s where you can enter the pet’s Microchip # and select a Microchip vendor, and save that information with the pet. Just like adopter info, you can only save microchip info if you are using our website’s Add Pet and Edit Pet forms to add and edit pets, not AutoUploading.

* New * Search for saved microchip info

Here’s another feature you asked for, and we added it! You’ve been able to save your pet’s microchip number when you marked the pet adopted for some time. Now, you can search by microchip number to find the pet and their saved microchip and adopter info. To search by microchip number, your can either select “Search by Microchip” from your Pet Lists menu, or use the Search by Microchip # box you’ll find on your pet list pages, it looks like this (minus the red arrow, we added that just for pointing it out!):

Please let us know if you have any questions about these new features!

Check out this heart-warming photo and note below that we received from a rescue about how listing a hard-to-adopt pet on Adopt-a-Pet.com found him an amazing home!

“One of our toughest pets was adopted!!!”

BECAUSE OF  ADOPT-A-PET.COM

Because of your amazing organization one of our toughest fosters was adopted!!! Kian came to us as a Search Dog candidate and washed out of the program. Because of his INCREDIBLE athletic abilities he was not a good match for many families. This guy can jump any fence … even a 6 ft block wall. This is fine if you are going to be a working K9 but not a pet :(

We received MANY calls to no avail and then … Leslie called saying she was an active gal but had no yard. YES YES YES! Kian is now a happy fella living large with a great new owner!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
