Coming soon: Bigger pet photos in Adopt-a-Pet.com search results!

Posted by Jennifer on May 5th, 2014

Good news! You asked for it, so we’re adding it… new bigger pet photos on Adopt-a-Pet.com’s search results pages!

So many of you do a wonderful job taking beautiful photos of your pets for adoption, and now those compelling images will be much more prominent on the pet search results pages when potential adopters run a search on Adopt-a-Pet.com. Here’s what a sample of what the bigger search results photos will look like:

The search results thumbnail photos will be 400% bigger than before, a massive 200×200 pixels! Wow! Bigger photos mean potential adopters are more likely to find a pet that appeals to them.

All search thumbnails will be square with rounded corners. You don’t need to do anything to your pet photos. Our new thumbnail generator does that for you auto-magically! As always, if you upload square photos (especially for the 1st photo which becomes the thumbnail), you take advantage of the maximum amount of display space available to show off your beautiful pets in the search results and on your pet’s details page. You can still upload any shape of photo! Centering your pet in a photo will help catch potential adopters eyes. Stay tuned… we’ll have several new photo-related goodies to unveil to you in the next couple of months. We think you’ll be excited!

What isn’t changing yet: the photo thumbnail size on your Portable Pet List or API that you can display on your own website, blog, or Facebook page.

If you have any comments, please email us at helpdesk@adoptapet.com. As always, we appreciate and listen to your feedback!

Thank you for all you do helping homeless pets,
