Purina Pet Obesity Campaign Could Help Pay Your Veterinary Bills
Purina has launched a Facebook campaign about the negative health effects of pet obesity, and they’re doing it in a way that raises money to help cover veterinary costs at shelters! For each “like” it gets, the Facebook campaign “Help fight pet obesity! Purina Veterinary Diets®” is donating $1.00 (up to $50k) to a special Adopt-a-Pet.com veterinary-care fund. We will then distribute the money in that fund to individual shelters and rescue groups to help cover specific veterinary costs. The details for distributing the funds are still being worked out, but you can help now by visiting http://facebook.com/FightingPetObesity and clicking “Like” near the top so we can get the maximum funds to then pass on to you, our shelter and rescue partners. Thanks, and we’ll keep you posted about how to apply for these funds!
New sizes of graphic pet-list links
Are you looking for a perfect (and highly adorable) graphic that links directly to your pet list on Adopt-a-Pet.com? We’ve added several new sizes to the “Links to my pet listings” page under the “Pet Lists” menu above. Or just go here!
Our Chicago Pet-Adoption Campaign With Mark Buehrle Launches
Adopt-a-Pet.com and White Sox legend Mark Buehrle just launched billboards and a televised PSA in the Chicagoland area to promote pet adoption. Already, pet searches in the Chicago area have increased by over 1,000 a day! We’ll be expanding this kind of outreach, launching a regional campaign in a different city every quarter. Do you want us to bring the pro-adoption message to your city? Email us and let us know why you think your region could benefit from a pro-adoption campaign!
Mobile upload feature
Just a reminder that we have a brand-new way for you to upload your photos directly from your mobile device to your Adopt-a-Pet.com account! You can email your photos to a special email address, and then they’ll appear in your Mobile Uploads photo pool. Then, when you want to add those photos to a pet’s profile, just click the “Mobile Uploads” link in the space where you normally add your pet photos, and you’ll be able to choose from all the photos you’ve uploaded. Once you use a photo, it disappears from your Mobile Uploads photo pool. You can find your special mobile photo email address here (or select “Mobile Uploads” under the “Shelter/Rescue” menu at the top of this page). Make sure you save it to your mobile contacts so you can upload photos on the go. Hint: you can also use this feature to upload multiple photos at once from your desktop computer, too!
